Inverted Wonder in Broederstroom
The Upside Down House in Broederstroom is designed to play with your perception and defy your instincts. Built with its roof on the ground and foundations in the air, every room pulls your sense of reality in a different direction.
Beyond the mind-bending architecture, the house doubles as a gallery showcasing work from local South African artists — so you're not just seeing something surreal, you're walking through art.

Whimsical Adventure on the Coast
Perched along the breathtaking Indian Ocean coastline, the Melville Upside Down House combines the classic gravity-defying concept with one of South Africa's most spectacular sea views. The house is strategically positioned to let you experience the ocean from an entirely inverted perspective.
Wildlife regularly visits the venue — keep an eye out for resident ducks, duikers, klipspringers, and even the occasional Fish Eagle. Thatch umbrellas, braai facilities, and fresh ocean air make this a full day out.
